Top Service
Very happy with the communication, speed and quality of your work! Highly recommend (image is Fomapan in Rodinal, not edited)
This page is for film scanning only. If you’ve just taken your film out of the camera → head to Film Developing / Noritsu scan pages.
Once your film is developed, we scan it on the Noritsu HS-1800. We run two of them in our setup.
What makes it so special?
For 110 film, 4×5 sheets, and mounted slides, we have the Durst Sigma Plus scanning service. Check out our Imacon film scanning service for more negative scanning options.
To include film borders, we use the Durst Sigma Plus. Take a look at our scanning with and without film borders samples.
Check out film scanning with borders prices and available formats.
If you’re looking for scans that are ready to post but still flexible for adjustments, go with JPG. For JPG scans we do basic color and exposure correction, and you can tweak them however you like.
If you’re going for a certain look, go with TIFF for flat, untouched scans ready for your editing.

What If I’m Not Happy with My Scans?
Then let’s improve them! Scanning is all about your personal style, so let’s tweak it until it’s just right for you.
Does My Film Need to Be Developed Before Scanning?
Yes. This page is for film scanning only. If you’ve just taken your film out of the camera → head to Film Developing & Scanning and pick the dev&scan option, depending on what film you’ve got (color, b&w, etc.).
When you take photos on film, light hits the film coated with special chemicals that react to it. This creates an image, but it’s invisible at first. To actually see the picture, the film has to go through development. After that, the image is fixed on the film, and we can scan it for you.
Can You Scan Film Developed at Another Lab or at Home?
Yes, we can. It doesn’t matter where your film was developed. A high-quality scan can bring out more detail in the shadows and highlights and give your frames a fresh look.
Can You Scan Old Family Negatives?
Yes, we love working on family archives! Keep in mind that how the negatives were stored shapes the scan quality. Color film tends to fade and shift over the years. We’ll do our best to correct it, but we don’t offer professional restoration. Black-and-white rolls need extra care too. Our Noritsu doesn’t remove dust or scratches on its own, so we clean negatives by hand. That’s why we can’t promise a perfectly dust-free result.
Can I Send Film That Has Already Been Cut into Strips?
Yes! Our Noritsu can scan strips as short as two frames.
Can I Scan Selected Frames Instead of an Entire Roll?
Yes, you can! Just note that the price is the same whether you’re scanning a full roll or only a few frames.
