Bei der Schwarzweiß-Entwicklung wird dein belichteter Film chemisch verarbeitet, sodass aus den latenten Bildern sichtbare Negative entstehen. Wenn du deinen SW-Film entwickeln lässt, entscheidet dabei jeder Schritt über Kontrast, Körnung und Detail.
Welche SW-Filme können entwickelt werden?
Wir entwickeln alle Arten von Schwarzweißfilm — Infrarot, chromogen, orthochromatisch, Röntgen und mehr.
Wenn der Film jedoch nicht zum Etikett passt (wie eine Kodak Gold Dose mit Kentmere Pan oder eine unbekannte Rolle mit einem seltsamen Namen), teilen Sie uns bitte mit, was drin ist, damit wir die Entwicklungszeit richtig einstellen können :)
P.S. Wenn Sie Ilford XP2 einsenden, besuchen Sie unsere C-41 Entwicklungs- & Scan-Seite. Es kann knifflig sein, aber er wird wie Farbfilm entwickelt.
So entwickeln wir Schwarzweißfilm:
Egal, ob du schon Erfahrung mit Schwarzweißfilm hast oder zum ersten Mal einen SW-Film entwickeln lässt – entscheidend ist, dass jeder der folgenden Faktoren das Endergebnis beeinflusst:
- Art des SW-Entwicklers
- Entwicklungszeit
- Temperatur
- Rührmethode und -häufigkeit
Bei der SW-Filmentwicklung wollten wir natürlich konstante und erstklassige Ergebnisse liefern. Deshalb setzen wir komplett auf einen bewährten SW-Entwickler – Ilford Ilfotec HC, der sich besonders für eine konstante Schwarzweiß-Entwicklung eignet. Für uns der Standard für klare, verlässliche Resultate. Und euer Feedback zeigt: Er bewährt sich auch bei euch absolut.
Aber bei so einem manuellen Prozess reicht es nicht, nur einen Entwickler zu verwenden, um Stabilität zu gewährleisten. Wir brauchten eine Ausrüstung, der wir vertrauen können, wie die Konica, die wir bereits für C-41 nutzen. Als wir eine Ersatzmaschine bekamen, haben wir uns der Herausforderung gestellt, sie für Schwarzweiß-Film einzusetzen. Es hat viel Testen gebraucht, aber jetzt läuft sie wie ein Traum.
Die Schwarzweiß-Film-Entwicklung hat 5 Hauptphasen:
- Entwicklung
- Stoppbad
- Fixierbad
- Waschen
- Trocknung
Sobald dein Film eingelegt ist, läuft er durch unsere Maschine und durchläuft jedes Chemiebad mit der richtigen Zeit, Temperatur und Bewegung.
So entstehen saubere, gleichmäßig entwickelte Negative, die sich ideal für hochwertige Scans eignen – genau das Ergebnis, das du von einer professionellen Schwarzweiß-Entwicklung erwartest.
Push/pull
Wenn du deinen Film pushen oder pullen möchtest, können wir das ohne Aufpreis machen. Sag uns einfach bei der Bestellung, mit welcher ISO du fotografiert hast und wie viele Stufen du pushen/pullen möchtest.
Filmscannen
Letzte Station: der Noritsu HS-1800
Es ist ein schneller Scanner mit Digital ICE*, aber hier ist der Haken: Er funktioniert nicht bei Schwarzweiß-Negativen. Siehst du den Staub auf deinem Bild? Genau, du wirst ihn nicht sehen. Wir reinigen manuell jeden kleinen Makel und drehen deine Fotos sogar, damit sie sofort einsatzbereit sind.
Wir können deine Bilder bis zu 4000×6000 px, und bieten zwei Dateiformate an:
- JPG – fertig zum Teilen
- TIFF – flache Scans, perfekt für die Nachbearbeitung
Wenn du vorhast, die Scans selbst zu bearbeiten, groß zu drucken oder in einem Projekt zu verwenden – wähle Biggie TIFF. Es bietet dir die meisten Details und Flexibilität, ohne Anpassungen von unserer Seite.
Wir schicken dir deine Bilder direkt in dein Postfach. Die Scan-Links sind 3 Tage lang aktiv. Wenn du die Frist verpasst, schick uns einfach deine Bestellnummer und wir laden die Dateien erneut hoch.
Wir bewahren deine Negative 1 Monat lang auf. Brauchst du mehr Zeit, um sie abzuholen? Sag uns einfach Bescheid, und wir halten sie etwas länger für dich zurück.
FAQ
What types of black and white film do you develop?
We develop all kinds of black and white film — infrared, chromogenic, ortho, X-ray, and more.
But if the film doesn’t match the label (like a Kodak Gold canister with Kentmere Pan inside or a mystery roll with a weird name), let us know what’s inside so we can get the development time right.
What film formats do you accept for B&W developing (35 mm, 120, 110)?
We develop color film in all popular formats - including 35mm, 120, and 110. Just drop off your rolls.
Do you develop both traditional B&W and chromogenic B&W (like Ilford XP2)?
Yes, we develop all types of black and white film: infrared, chromogenic, orthochromatic, X-ray, and more!
P.S. If you're sending Ilford XP2, go to our C-41 dev & scan page. It can be tricky, but it’s processed like color film.
Do you develop b&w disposable cameras?
Yes, we offer push and pull processing for all film types.
To push or pull your film, you’ll need to adjust the ISO before you start shooting.
If you want to push your film, set your camera to a higher ISO than the film’s box speed. For example, you can shoot Kodak Gold 200 at ISO 400.
If you want to pull your film, set a lower ISO. E.g. Kodak Gold 200 at ISO 100.
Pushing gives your photos more contrast and grain. Pulling, on the other hand, softens the image with pastel tones and less contrast.
When you place your order, just let us know the ISO you used, and we’ll adjust the development accordingly.
Note: We don’t recommend pushing expired film. It’s better to shoot it at a lower ISO and develop it at box speed.
Do you use standard or customized development times for different B&W films?
We use custom development times for each B&W film. There’s a big chart in the lab — we know it like the back of our hand :)
Do you offer push or pull processing for B&W film?
We offer push and pull for B&W film at no extra cost!
To push or pull your film, you’ll need to adjust the ISO before you start shooting.
If you want to push your film, set your camera to a higher ISO than the film’s box speed. For example, you can shoot Ilford HP5 Plus 400 at ISO 800.
If you want to pull your film, set a lower ISO. E.g. Ilford Delta 3200 at ISO 1600.
Pushing gives your photos more contrast and grain. Pulling, on the other hand, softens the contrast.

What if I have a blank roll of film?
Oh, it’s the worst, we feel you.
We’ll refund the scan and just charge for the development. This also applies if your film is fogged or has damaged / transparent perforation.

Can you send my negatives back?

What’s the difference between Flash and Biggie?
Think of it like this: if you’re going big — like for an exhibition or a gift — biggie’s your go-to
For everything else — flash. It’s fast, flexible and perfect for quick edits and everyday needs.
JPG or TIFF?
If you’re looking for scans that are ready to post but still flexible for adjustments, go with JPG. We’ll make sure they look great, and you can tweak them however you like.
If you’re going for a certain look, go with TIFF for flat, untouched scans ready for your editing.
Do you scan half-frames?
Yes! We can scan them in pairs or one by one — whatever works best for you. Just give us the heads-up when you order.
